MOSCOW, Feb 4 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Federal Security Service suggested using local SIM cards and cryptography for 5G connection at a meeting on January 30, business daily Vedomosti reported on Monday, citing several sources.
The service also offered to further substitute foreign equipment on networks, in particular on base stations, with local products.
One of the sources explained that cryptographic algorithms are used in authorization of subscribers, and SIM cards must support them.
